Clevedon Coast Oysters® is New Zealand’s premium Pacific Oyster Producer, established in 1986 and is family owned and operated and a part of the McCallum Group.

Production Supervisor

Clevedon Coast Oysters® (CCO®) are part of the family-owned McCallum Group of Companies, who have been growing, processing and marketing “Clevedon Coast Oysters®” since 1986.

Processing is carried out in a USFDA Registered Export Packhouse, processing oysters for the NZ domestic and overseas export markets, including Japan, Asia, Australia, EU, USA and Russia.

CCO® are looking to expand our production with new farming area developments, so need more qualified staff to ensure the high quality that has resulted in CCO® being NZ’s top oyster, is maintained.

Highest standards of Quality Control, and good production systems are imperative to achieve this.

This role is full time Monday to Friday, possibly Saturday work required and salary and hours to be discussed at time of interview.

QUALIFICATIONS/WORK HISTORY REQUIRED:

Ideally tertiary qualifications in Food Science/Production, with some experience in a food processing facility.

THE JOB:

The position would suit a self-motivated, dedicated and honest person who would like to further themselves in the export and domestic processing part of Clevedon Coast Oysters.

Initially the person would be working in the factory learning all of the current processes, hygiene practices and job requirements.

This would also involve working with the Factory Manager and supervisors to gain expert knowledge and an overview of the factory operation and compliance documentation involved.

As the person becomes more confident and knowledgeable in the operation, the job would morph into the role of Production Supervisor who would be responsible for all of the daily factory production.

Other tasks will include:

  • Attending with our QC and interacting with MPI Inspectors in audits,
  • Export documentation and certification,
  • Improving productivity,
  • Staff management,
  • Product development,
  • Sampling (library samples of oysters) for Eurofins testing,
  • Learning to control inventory requirements i.e., palletising product, stock takes, labelling.

Casual Staff Wanted

Casual staff wanted to work in our Food Galley, as required on Saturday’s and Sunday’s between hours 9.30am – 4.00pm. Suit maybe local person looking for part time work. Due to the rural location where we are situated a drivers license may be essential.

Full-time Truck & Trailer Driver Wanted

We are a family-owned company that has been in business for 35 years, based in Clevedon. We require an experienced Truck & Trailer Driver that can join our team and hit the ground running. If you have a reasonable level fitness, have a class 5 license, and some digger experience, we are looking for you to start immediately. 

We are looking for a driver:

Full class 5 License
Digger Operator
Some Hiab experience preferred
Good time management skills
Maintain clean and tidy vehicles
Physically fit and healthy
