Trainee Quality Control Supervisor

Clevedon Coast Oysters® are looking to expand production with new farming area developments, so we will need more qualified staff to maintain the high quality that has resulted in Clevedon Coast Oysters® being NZ’s most respected oyster producer.

In April 2021 a new Quality Control Supervisor position will be established.

The position would suit a self-motivated, dedicated and honest person who would like to further themselves in the export and domestic processing part of the rapidly expanding aquaculture industry.

Initially the person would be working in the factory learning all of the current processes, hygiene practices and job requirements.

This would also involve working with the Factory Manager and supervisors to gain expert knowledge and an overview of the factory operation and compliance documentation involved.

As the person becomes more confident and knowledgeable in the operation, the job would morph into the role of Quality Control Supervisor who would be responsible for the Quality Control of all factory production.

Other tasks will include:

  • Interacting with MPI Inspectors
  • Export documentation and certification
  • Improving productivity
  • Staff management
  • Product development
  • Sampling (library samples of oysters) for Eurofins testing
  • Learning to control inventory requirements i.e., palletising product, stock takes, labelling

Great upskilling and professional development opportunities in a family environment.

Reports to Factory Manager, Clevedon Coast Oysters®.

QUALIFICATIONS/WORK HISTORY REQUIRED:

Ideally tertiary qualifications in Food Science/Production/Science, with some experience in a food processing facility – although experience is not required.
